Late Saturday Mystery Box Theatre: I See Something Pink

Sunday Fun Day Lovelies! I beg forgiveness for this late Mystery Box Theatre post, but I promise this is a good one :)

This week as I was pulling into my driveway I noticed something quite peculiar sticking out of my mailbox. A metallic hot pink mailer envelope. Hmmm, what could this be?
It wasn't too hefty, but as you can tell a little bulky. Let's open it up!

I pulled this out.....Now I think its supposed to be a makeup bag but it really looks more like a pencil case I had in 8th grade. I realized what this must be. Lovelies, this is another beauty subscription service called Pink Package. They like to showcase indie beauty brands. This is there very first bag. They handle Canadian subs on a case-by-case basis, so you have to contact them directly if you are interested. They still have kinks to work out, like getting a functional webpage back together. I, ever the sub box junkie, will give them a few more months. But enough of that:

Hmmm, mostly really flat looking objects. Let's start with the accordian thing at the back. It is a sample pack from Scarlett & Greene. I have never heard of them but they seem to be based out of New Zealand. There products have no parabens, silicones, etc making them suitable for all skin types. There are 3 samples in total: Come Clean cleanser, Bare All breakout control wash, and Under Cover moisturiser. These packets look onetime use. It would have been better to include maybe 2 or 3 of each to get a good feel.
Now going from left to right:
1) Violent Lips Temporary Lip Appliques in The Pink Houndstooth. Perfect for Halloween, but I don't think I'll be wearing these to Thanksgiving dinner!
2) Niki Saint Pierre Youth Creme: Described as an extreme regenerating treatment. The company is based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
3) Comodynes Easy Peeling facial towelette. I have 2 tries for this and it actually looks promising.
4) LVX Nail Lacquer in Primrose : Full size
All in all, not a bad launch package. So this mystery is solved!

Thursday evening I was greeted by a rather large hot pink box, sitting on my porch. I had a pretty good idea as to what it was but I had to be sure.......

Confirmed: The QVC New Beauty Test Tube! I had always thought the Test Tube was only available to US residents before seeing CityGirl's post on her Test Tube. I immediately signed up for mine! The Test Tube is a quarterly service, can be ordered through the QVC website, and costs Canadians about $47 when all is said and done with taxes and shipping. The Test Tube promises 8 deluxe sized samples every quarter. I took a gamble. Let's see if it paid off:

Score! A travel size philosophy love sweet love shampoo, bath, and shower gel. I have always wanted to try philosophy! And to the right is Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Conditioner. It never hurts to give your locks a little damage treatment every now and then,

Left to Right:
1) bliss lemon+sage body butter: I had heard rave reviews about this butter so I was thrilled to receive a good sized sample to try
2) smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer: score! I've been waiting for this sample to come to my doorstep!
3) Algenist Firming Cream

Top: Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Speckle Pen: a eyeshadow primer which also works great as a concealer. Now the shade I got was Fair/Light, so I don't think I can use this as a concealer, I am a proud Tan/Medium babe! ;)
Smashbox, again! lol I just love this stuff! I snuck another picture in!
In the middle is Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Daily Moisturizer.
And Last but not least a Mally High Shine Lip Color in Mally's Look. Not complaining about this either.
Overall, I really enjoyed this Test Tube and I look forward to my next one. :)

It's Friday!:September 2012, Beauty Box 5 and StarBox

Good evening Lovelies! We've made it to another weekend! I've got to play catch up with my boxes this post so here we go!

Beauty Box Five September 2012

Looking at other posts and my own experience, BB5 has come quite a long way in a short time since their launch this past February. My first box was last month. So I was hoping this box would also make me smile.

And I did from ear to ear! Look at this month's goodies!
Going from Left to Right:
1) NuMe Hydro Punch Hydrating Tube: I had received this before in my first Glymm bag. I didn't find it all too amazing. I gave it to my sister to try. Sharing is caring!
2) Top: Nastassaja Skin Enzyme Facial Peel: I'm excited to try this one! Never had a peel  before.
2) Bottom: Silk Naturals Eyeshadow in Sierra: this was a dark drown shade
3) Bottom: Goat Haus Dairy Bath Melt
3)Top: H.Wood.Beauty Lip Shine in Poppy:Full size!  Here's a peek at the colour:
Happy with this box!

Starbox September 2012

I had been snooping around forums and there were some leaked hints that this month would have double the amount of full size products then a normal Starbox. The Starlooks Look Book is actually a sneak peek at what could be inside this month's box and I had heard many rave reviews about it. I was good and didn't peek at any reviews before I opened mine. I'm really glad I did though! What a pleasant surprise!

This is one of the Starlooks Signature Eye Shadow Palettes. It contains five full sized eye shadows. WE also received a little tube of Eye Jewelry from Swarovski crystals. We also we received a pot of Clear eye shadow primer. This box came just in time! I have a wedding to get gussied up for tomorrow and this will come in good use! I do quite like the quality of this makeup line as well.

All in all, I was pretty impressed with these boxes. :) So many goodies!

I had another box to show you Lovelies but I think I will save it for our Saturday Mystery Box Theatre tomorrow. ;)

Have a great night! Keep it real! :P hehe

Tickled Pick: Protect the Ta- Ta's

Hi Lovelies!
I hope the title grabbed your attention!
Around September and the month of October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The colour pink has come to symbolize the battle with breast cancer and the strive for a cure. Lots of companies also put out products that are *tickled pink*, with a portion of the proceeds going towards appropriate charities and groups. All throughout this month, I will be doing a series of unboxings with companies who have a pink theme and are donating a portion of their proceeds. They are coming in now, so I will have posts soon!

It's Friday!: Last Candy Japan and Full Disclosure

TGIF! A busy week at work. And a busy weekend up ahead! Tomorrow, I'm going to my future step-mother-in-law's last hurrah. Us ladies of the family are renting a limo and hitting up a bunch of wineries out in the county. Hehe!
What are your weekend plans?

I had to get rid of one of my subs. And Candy Japan did not make the cut. While I loved the first envelope I received, I know that this is just a luxury type of service. It was fun, and by all accounts great if you have the funds. I just needed to cut back a little *blush*
So here is my last bag
Again, no email was sent, so I have to play "what Candy is this?'. The first pouch on the left has to be some sort of string candy as it has 126cm on it. The middle pouch was some fruit flavoured mini jaw breakers. I had one while writing the first paragraph. It's yummy! Give me a sec, I'm going to get another one...........................................................mmmmm I just popped 2, lol. They are apple flavoured. The last pouch is a sucker. I think it has another little candy inside of it. Maybe I'll revisit Candy Japan in the future. But for now, we'll go our separate ways.

I also just wanted to give a little update on my giveaway. I wanted to show the Lovelies how I'm handling the entries, hence full disclosure. :)

First, once you enter, I get an email with a copy of your entry.
Once I've tallied up your entries, I write your name on slips of cardstock according to the number of entries you sent :

Once I've done that, I fold the little slip in half and close it off with a sticker.

I thought about the Hunger Games, haha.
I am looking for a mixing drum so in the meantime the entries are safely stored......in my last Glymm bag.

And there you have it! If you haven't already, enter my giveaway here
I can't keep all these wonderful smelling soaps to myself!

Have a fabulous weekend, Lovelies! We'll chat soon! :)

WFMOTP: The Natural Beauty Box September 2012

Happy Hump Day, Lovelies! After a ho-hum day at work, it was a treat to come home and see this:

My September 2012 TNBB! The August box was a hit with me so I was hoping for a repeat. The bag was pretty hefty, too.

And The Natural Beauty Box did not disappoint! This month there are 13 samples to try. So excited to share the contents with you!

Clockwise starting at the top left:

1) Ferro Cosmetics Desert Rose Blush x3: I'm pretty excited for this sample. I still have the Crystal Veil powder from them from my August BB5 so no I can try them together!

2) Petal Organics Glow & Shine Primer: I've been interested in primers lately and I haven't even thought of one that was natural. I'll be sure to post and let you know how it is!

3) Kitty Kosmetics Red Raspberries Natural Soap Heart: I would probably get this just based on the name alone, haha

4)The All Natural Face Natural Cosmetic and applicator Collection Sample. This included a sample of their Vegan Eye Shadow Primer (there's that word again!) and Vegan Eyeshadow in Lemon Ice. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I remember seeing this in some other unboxings of a BB5 a few months ago?

5)Natural Luxury Rejuvenating & Nourishing Under Eye Serum: Full Size! This little baby may go straight into my purse. Under eye relief on the go. Smells like roses too :)

Top Left:
1) La Mellite Mandarin Express Body Scrub

2) Natural Luxury Relax & Relieve Stress Bath Tea : I've never actually heard of a tea bath before. Has anyone tried it? What's it like? I don't take full baths so I'm not really sure what to do with this.

Bottom Left to Right
1) Dr. Emerald Natural Hand Sanitizer: Full Size! I'm always looking for hand sanitizers that will not be harsh on my hands. Glad to see this little bottle :)

2) Dr. Emerald Natural Anti-Microbial Hand Soap in Forest Dew: More soap :)

3) Temptations Bath N Body Lime in Da Coconut Body Spritz: As soon as I read the name I got that Coke-Cola song stuck in my head! What ever happened to that flavour? Anyways, its purse-sized so again, take with me anywhere. I sprayed some on my wrists, I love coconut smells!

4) Dr. Emerald Hair Restoration Spray: Another product I immediately opened upon seeing. I sprayed some on my hair. It doesn't seem to have a scent so that is a plus in a way. :)

5) Delizioso Skincare Watermelon & CoQ10 Face Mask: I have enough face masks for every week till Christmas! This is also a dry form mask that you must add a base, like water or yogurt. The packet says its good for 10 uses. So this sample is good for one to two months if you use it 1-2 times a week. Awesome!

6) Shea Terra Whipped Shea Butter Creme in Rooibos & Berries: Another weapon to add to my arsenal against dry skin!

And there you have it, Lovelies! This box was another hit :) I am pretty impressed with this little company out of London, Ontario. How did you find your TNBB?

WFMOTP, Part 2: Fortune Cookie Fall Soap Box And (CLOSED) Let's Hang on to Summer Giveaway

I have been on this handmade soap kick lately. I never knew what my skin was missing! I have dry, sensitive skin. So It has been a challenge for me since my teens to find products that don't irritate my skin. It has definitely been hard. But I've discovered, more handmade soaps are better for me. And so much more fun then a bar you'd pick up in any store!

Fortune Cookie Soap is a company based out of Oklahoma that specializes in homemade soap and bath products without 'gunk': no parabens, SLS, or synthetic preservatives. They offer a seasonal subscription appropriately titled The Soap Box, which features deluxe and full size samples of the scents of the season. The cost is $28USD for Canadians and includes all shipping costs. I was able to sign up just in time for the Fall Box.

I am greeted by a card explaining all the contents and the new scents available this season. And does it ever smell so good!

Clockwise from the Top

1)Something Nutty Milk Bath: All the scents of Fall- vanilla, hazelnut, maple syrup, banana, coconut, lime, orange, grapefruit, bergamot, clove. Whew! Yum :)

2) Cram your face in My Sweet Pumpkin Pie Mask. What I didn't realize is that their masks come in dry form so you add whatever liquid you want to make it muddy! They even give you suggestions on the label specific to your skin type too. Very cool!

3)Snickerdoodle Whipped Cream: Now I have to admit I've never had a snickerdoodle or even come close to one in my life :( But I do want to eat this cream! Cinnamon, butter, sugar cookie, allspice.

4) Roast My Marshmallow Fortune Cookie Soap: Full size :) but not for human consumption. haha, they actually have to warn people!

5)Pumpkin Coconut Crunch Itty Bitty Gritty Lip Scrub: I think this is a relatively new product for FCS and I'm excited to try it!

6) Ripe for the Picking OCD hand sanitizer: I love these hand sanitizers! They don't dry your hands out and actually have ingredients like aloe vera to help moisturize my hands.

7) Figs & Berries Eco Suds: Now my clothes can smell pretty awesome too! figs, currants, cranberries, acai berries, raspberries.

8) A Roll in the Leaves Bath Fizzy: Mine kind of got wrecked. You can't tell, but in transit, it must have started to come apart, as it was all over the inside of the box. No biggie though!

All in all, I was impressed by this box and will definitely be staying on for the winter box :)

And now......

Let's Hang on to Summer! My First Giveaway, celebrating a month of bloggin'

Lovelies, ever notice how you can smell something and be taken back to a fond memory? Or a not so fond memory? Haha. Well, that's how I am feeling about summer. As much as I love Fall scents and holidays and wearing sweaters, I'm a summer baby. I love my heat, my sun, my poolside, my bbqs, my flipflops. So I'm trying to hold on to summer, even if it has to be sense-memory. And I'd like to share that with you! Not one but two Lovelies will be smelling the sweet scents of summer through October and November with these:

Here are 6 Fortune Cookie soaps from their summer collection.

Waiting for me on the Porch, Part 1: September Glymm 2012

Hello Lovelies! The September Glymm Bag has arrived!

It's a pretty nice looking bag and it was actually pretty hefty when I first picked it up! A promising bag this month? Time to unzip............

Hmmmmm, nothing really exciting. I mean, looking at this picture looks like something I would pack for a mini vacation. *yawn*

In the bag from left to right:
1) EVOLVh Ultrashine Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. Luxury Organic Haircare, and it says on the front its expecially magnificent for colour treated hair. I don't have colour treated hair! *grrrr

2) Benta Berry 'Very Hydrating Facial Cream': if my limited French serves me right. Didn't we get a Benta Berry product last month?

3) Villainess Soaps Whipped Butter.

4) La Fresh Waterproof Makeup Remover: I guess I'm happy to see these. I haven't gotten to try them yet, but I have seen them in previous boxes.

So that's it. I'm a little stumped as to what exactly is going on. I know that when I start looking at other beauty blogger's Glymm bags this month, I expect some inequality. And the fact that I expect that so soon (this is only my second bag) is pretty sad. I am stuck with my year long sub so I hope for things to get better. I also got in on the nail polish promotion they just put out. You can get a full sized nail polish in your bag every month on top of the 4-5 samples. This is if you sub for a whole year by September 30. I fought to have this added to my subscription (they were not going to let me at first). So    I know October's bag will have one full-sized item I have a remote chance of liking and being excited about.

This was such a downer post to write:( Lovelies, notice this is titled Part 1. I promise Part 2 will be way chipper! :)

Saturday T and Kitty

No Mystery Saturday= :(

Alas, the math above is true. I had a mystery box lined up for you, Lovelies. But it is on hold for various reasons. I will post when the time is right.

In the mean time I wanted to post a teaser! The goodies came in for my first ever giveaway! Want to see?!

My giveaway is going to be a bit of a holding on to summer theme. Can anyone guess what these are? I'll post the giveaway soon (code for figuring out the best way to do this) so stay tuned!

Happy Saturday Lovelies!

It's Friday, I'm in Love!: The Natural Beauty Box August 2012 (finally!)

It's Friday, Lovelies! What are you sipping? I am having a Dr. Pepper with a little Cherry Whiskey. Redundant, I know, but a super sweet start to the weekend! :)
I've been meaning to get around to The Natural Beauty Box Use it or Lose it, but it just never happened. And then more boxes began populating my porch! So this post kinda got lost in the shuffle. And now makes it debut! If you recall:

The Natural Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription service filled with 10-15 deluxe samples of 95-100% all natural products. It is $20 per month and is non-recurring so you have the option to get that month's box or not. But from what I've seen, they are selling like hotcakes! You can also subscribe for a full year, which is $15.75 a month. And they do ship internationally. August 2012 was their launch box. Sample count=14. 14?! They weren't kidding. I am not going to review every product I received because I either a) didn't get around to using it or b) I don't actually use the type of product.

Here is the selection of products I did try and will review.

From Left to Right!
1) Original Purity Skincare Wash Me Lavender Body Wash: This product is actually a 5-in-1. It's a body wash, shampoo, counter cleanser, handsoap, and a bubble bath. I did actually try it for the first 3 uses listed. I'm not too crazy about the lavender scent, but it did the job. All three in fact! It was gentle enough for my face, my hair felt clean, and my skin so soft! They have other scents available, orange and cinnamon. I will have to pick up the orange body wash soon!
2) Pure Anada Fruit Enzyme Exfoliating Cleanser: This has been my go to cleanser since the day it arrived. It smells like citrus heaven! Its a cream cleanser with tiny scrubbing beads. After washing it off, my skin actually feels fresh.
3) Temptations Bath N Body Tumble Me Oats Natural Soap Cake Slice: Now The soap I have shown here is the full size I bought. My sample didn't last very long! It was simply delicious to use! Hands so soft and not dried out! It's also good for use in the shower.....which is where mine will be going. :)

From left to right
1) 100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream : One of my favourite scents is coffee. So this eye cream is right up my alley.
2) Delizioso Skincare Spring Cream Blush: I was a little worried about this one. It seemed very bright red when I opened it. But looks are deceiving. It actually goes on quite sheer at first with only a hint of colour. It actually takes a few applications to get it just right. I've even used it as a lip tint!
3) Delizioso Skincare Nourish & Shimmer Lip Gloss in Blueberry: This smells like blueberries, but doesn't go on blue. Its more of a purple colour. The gloss has a nice pigment to it, but the formula dries pretty quick so you have to reapply often. The product also separates when left untouched for a period of time.

The top product which is cutoff in my picture (and a testament to my awesome photography skills) is Zatik Natural Active Balancing Creme:  I did like this product at first but then something fishy started happening. The creme was getting water to precipitate on my face which makes for an icky feeling, to put it so scientifically ;) It also had a scent of ginger to it. It wasn't strong or anything but did not help the sweaty face feeling I was getting. I stopped using it altogether.
Now from top left to right:

1) Renu Derma Eye Cream: A gentle eye cream, I use at night.

2) Happy Pumpkin Organic Skincare Hydrating Hair Balm: I use this when I want to style and smooth my hair out.....and smell like pumpkin pie at the same time. Who wouldn't want to smell like a favourite holiday dessert?! Its hydrating alright, but can get a bit oily if you load it on. Just like pumpkin pie, moderation is needed.

3) Ariona Skincare Organic Argan & Camu Camu Facial Oil: I love this product! I use it every morning. It absorbs sos quick, you'll forget you have it on. It reduced the redness around my nose. The best part is, you need just a couple drops per application. This bottle will last me quite a long time! :)

4)Delizioso Skincare Crisp Vanilla Body Cream Mini: This is like putting icing on yourself. Every time I get a whiff, I'm back to birthdays and parties and peeking in bakery windows. Ahhhh.......I got the full size to cover myself! So this little guy comes around with me in my purse. :)

So there you have it. Just about everything in the box also has a homemade feel to it as well. A lot of the items were individually wrapped in tissue paper or tied up with ribbons and bows. I can't wait for the September box! To Subscribe, check out the link under the Subscription Links Page :)
